Job description

In business for more than 35 years and Canada's leader in the breakfast industry, Cora Breakfast & Lunch is a franchisor of 125 restaurants. Our company franchises restaurants from coast to coast.

The Director, procurement is responsible for negotiating and renewing purchase contracts and commercial agreements for the Cora Group. He or she is responsible for finding high-quality products at competitive prices.

In details

  • Search for suppliers for products distributed or not for the Cora Group;
  • Negotiate, renew and analyze purchase contracts and commercial agreements for all products distributed or not for the Cora Group;
  • Evaluate and compare the costs and quality of products and services;
  • Buying, negotiating, testing and tracking equipment and products in restaurants;
  • Support operations with new suppliers;
  • Working in conjunction with the research and development department
  • Analyze customer or franchisee complaints and find a solution;
  • Work in conjunction with the Cora Casseroles Warehouse Manager to establish prices;
  • Provide service and support to franchisees;
  • Coordinate various issues with franchisees, suppliers or carriers;
  • Negotiate transportation costs;
  • Write internal memos;
  • Participate in public relations activities and maintain professional relationships with suppliers;
  • Visit suppliers' facilities and food exhibits;
  • Provide "purchasing" training to future franchisees;
  • Prepare the annual budget and take stock of the volume discounts;
  • Other related tasks.

Essential

  • College diploma in supply management
  • Bachelor degree in Business Management or related (asset)
  • Minimum of 5 to 10 years as a food buyer
  • Spoken and written French and English
  • Knowledge of Microsoft 365 Suite
  • Knowledge of the franchising environment (asset)
  • Knowledge of the restaurant and food industry
